We are driven by the belief that powerful visual stories can spur action around issues that affect the health and well-being of the most vulnerable. Stories have the power to drive social change and we exist to help those stories take flight. Since 2005, we have supported over 400 projects and put over $14 million into the field. And, we are not done yet.
Our goal is to explore, support, and deepen the role of documentary film and other forms of visual storytelling in larger social change efforts. We do this through our Outreach and Engagement Fund, the Fledgling Engagement Lab, our Rapid Story Deployment Fund and our Immersive Storytelling Initiative.
"The Fledgling Fund has invested in a generation of filmmakers to think more boldly about the impact of their stories in the world."
- Wendy Levy, NAMAC
To us, impact means supporting storytellers in their efforts to engage audiences and move them to action around issues affecting the health and well being of the most vulnerable. The work we support is raising awareness, deepening engagement and strengthening the work of allied organizations. We share what we have learned through papers and case studies and other resources.
