Filmmakers

Through our Creative Media Initiative we support filmmakers working on projects that address key social issues, such as girl's empowerment and education, human rights, health care, war and its aftermath, and immigration.  If we believe that your film project has the potential to achieve social change, we work closely with you throughout the application process to determine how The Fledgling Fund can be most helpful. We want to understand what your goals are for the film and how they can best be achieved.  For example, if needed, we will work with you to identify outreach organizations that can help you design and implement a strategic outreach campaign.

In addition to support for specific film projects, we also believe that it is critical to support a diversity of voices in documentary films. To the end, we sponsored the Spectrum Award the 2007 Full Frame Film Festival and The Fledgling Fund Award for Socially Conscious Documentary and The Fledgling Fund Award for Emerging Latino Filmmaker at both the 2006 and 2007 IFP Market.  We have also partnered with Chicken & Egg Pictures to support emerging and veteran female filmmakers.

If you have a project that you think would interest us, we invite you to apply for funding.
