Hispanic Federation

Grants: $225, 000 over 3 years (2006-2008)

About the Project

A three-year grant to the Hispanic Federation, which will lead four of its member agencies, Inwood House, The Dominican's Women's Development Center, Asociacion Benefica Cultural Padre Billini (Father Billini), and Mercy Center in a collaborative effort to prevent teenage pregnancy among underserved Hispanic populations in New York City. The project will use Inwood House's Teen Choice model, an evidenced-based teen pregnancy prevention model, which to date has been a school-based model, and adapt the model for use by community-based organizations. The model relies of social workers, who provide education and also teach teens skills that allow them to make healthy choices.
