We are excited to announce the following outreach and engagement grants.  Each of these projects has great potential to impact key issues that affect health, including global health policy, caregiving, economic security, and safe and healthy communities.

Bending the Arc Directed by Kief Davidson and Pedros Kos

Bending the Arc is a documentary about a team of young people—Paul Farmer, Jim Yong Kim, Ophelia Dahl—whose charitable medical work 30 years ago ignited a global health movement. Their goal was simple but daring: to make high quality health care available to everyone, even in the world’s poorest countries. Fighting entrenched diseases, political and bureaucratic machinery, and the existing charity and medical establishments, these crusaders took their fight from the village to the world stage, to ensure that health care is a right for all, and that geography should not determine destiny.

CareForce One Travelogues Directed by Marisa Jahn

A humorous and touching road tale, this series explores how care intersects with some of today’s most pressing issues — immigration, the legacies of slavery, racial discrimination, and more.

Charm City Directed by Marilyn Ness

For Ahkeem Directed by Jeremy Levine and Landon Van Soest

An intimate coming of age story beginning one year before the fatal police shooting of a Black teenager in nearby Ferguson, Missouri, this film illuminates challenges that many Black teenagers face in America today, and witnesses the strength, resilience, and determination it takes to survive.
